Cobra One’s sire, Cape Town S, became winner of the much coveted prize Best Danish Four Year Old. He is a beautiful bay son of Caletto I out of a Lagano daughter. Cape Town S is an exceptional jumper that also moves impressively. At Cape Town’s stallion grading, the judges made the following comments:

"A noble stallion of extremely good type. Good expression. Well formed neck. Good shoulder and withers. Good over line. Medium long, well formed croup. Legs correct conformation and dry, straight front. Well formed hooves. Paces good. 9-7-8-7- 8-7-7-8."

Capetown’s sire is the Holsteiner great, Caletto I. According to the Stallion Book of the Holsteiner Warmblood Breed by Dr. Dietrich Rossow, he was "tall, important sire with the smooth topline of a modern riding horse... Extraordinary jumping ability with fantastic form over fences." And the progeny? "(Caletto I) Sires performance horses of his type with his strong points and faults. Very energetic individuals with great jumping ability."

Caletto I was hand selected by Master Breeder Baron Clens von Nagel to stand at his Vornholz Stud. After a breeding injury seemingly ended his breeding career after just 3 short seasons, the Holsteiner Verband sold Caletto I to the show jumping rider, Michael Rüping and he went on to earn DM 101,693, as well as a team bronze at the 1983 European Championships. In 1985, Caletto I was the most successful German Nation's Cup horse. But when his younger brother Caletto II died in an accident, Holsteiner breeding authorities contacted Michael Rüping and persuaded him to test Caletto I once again - after a break of five years, the stallion was now producing fertile semen. Caletto I resumed his successful breeding career in 1986 and in the 1991-2000 WBFSH standings was represented by 12 progeny who had taken him into 28th place - finishing 5th in the 1999/2000 standings. His most successful jumper has been Calvaro. He has also been a successful sire of stallions, most notably Camaro, Cantus and Cartusch. As his younger brother did, Caletto I nicks beautifully with Capitol blood.

Cobra One’s dam sire is Denmark’s 2004 Stallion of the Year, Carano. Carano obtained this distinction because of his extraordinary breeding achievements by continuously proving to be a supplier of great quality to the breed. Carano has for the last few years been one of the most popular breeding stallions. Along with his career as a breeding stallion, he has had a tremendous sporting career competing at the highest level both nationally and internationally ridden by Henrik Gundersen – and he is still sound and jumping Grand Prix classes at 15 yrs old!

Carano is proving his ability to transmit his jump by becoming the leading sire in the DWB jumping index with more than 194 points. His offspring have enormous jumping potential with lots of courage, rideability and capacity and are consistently among the top competitors in classes for youngsters with numerous victories. In the US, Carano’s most famous son may be USHJA Hunter Derby Champion, Rumba, ridden by John French.

And despite his show jumping pedigree, Carano has succeeded in producing outstanding dressage horses such as Cervinia Skovvang, who achieved a gold medal at the Elite Mare Show along with the title "Mare of The Year," and Cappuccino D who won the Young Horse Championship in both dressage and show jumping.

Carano's sire is none other than the Holsteiner legend, Capitol I. Capitol I is the sire of some of the most significant jumping horses and stallions in Europe today (e.g. Carthago, Dobel's Cento, Indoctro, Cassini I and II).
