Young Horse Show Series
We would like to thank everybody who participated in the inaugural Young Horse Show at Spy Coast Farm! The all-inclusive show format was reflected in the entries and the final placings with winning horses from the hunter, jumper, dressage and eventing worlds. The atmosphere was extremely conducive to young horses and the scoring/judging system allowed for young horse mistakes. Judge Jos Sevriens was extremely accommodating and understanding of these young horses and gave them ample opportunity to display their talent. He was also extremely complimentary about the overall quality of the horses.
As we had hoped, the show attracted a lot of attention! A USEF representative attended both days, speaking to NAS board of directors, Lisa Lourie and Jean-Yves Tola, about the need for a venue that develops our young horses in an environment conducive to the long term well-being and soundness of the horses. Equestrian Magazine also was in attendance and interviewed Lisa Lourie for an upcoming article. And by day two, word seemed to spread as more and more professional riders and trainers stopped in to watch the classes.
We would especially like to thank Lisa Lourie for providing a world-class venue for this inaugural show and all of the Spy Coast personnel who proved invaluable in setting up and executing such a smoothly run show, especially Dave, Laurie, Jen, Emily, Rachel and Richie.
