The North American Studbook presents:
The Spy Coast Farm Young Sporthorse Show Series
FTI Winter Equestrian Festival - Wellington, FL
One of the fundamental strengths of the European breeding system is the ability to show young horses affordably and in classes that are designed to show off a horse’s talent, while simultaneously building their exposure and their confidence. The Young Horse Championships, the Bundeschampionat, the "Cycle Classique," the Pavo Cup, are all celebrated events for which European breeders aspire, develop and prepare their young horses. But the foundation of these high profile events is the smaller, local event where youngsters are developed in a low-cost, low-pressure environment and where their mistakes, kinks and hijinx are understood and forgiven.
To help fill this void in the North American market, NAS has developed the Young Horse Show Series, a show event for all sport horses aged 1-5 who are intended to compete as a jumper, hunter, eventer or dressage horse. A single event to:
- Create an inclusive environment where all breeders, trainers, riders and owners can bring their horses
- Bridge the gap between the breeding and competition world
- Create a marketplace for young horses
Classes you know have been re-designed to allow young horses to show off their gaits and athleticism, classes you have seen in Europe have been adapted to the North American market to allow riders to school horses in a conducive learning environment, and classes you never thought you would see in the US, especially a jump chute competition, are now available to give young jumping horses a venue to prove their prowess over fences.
So, check out the Prize List for the Spy Coast Farm Young Sporthorse Show series. Learn more about the classes, the fees, the prize money. Come join us, as a competitor or as a spectator, at the FTI Winter Equestrian Festival and help kick-off an event that will establish a new paradigm for young horse showing in the United States.
There will be three shows on January 25th, February 22nd and March 22nd. Finals to be held in December 2011.
This is an event you will not want to miss!
